Our Story

In November of 2018, at a time when both of them were ready to give the whole dating world a break she just so happened to swipe right and he just so happened to swipe right too. Hannah made the first move with a hello that would make history. Conversation developed and when they realized that their mug-based beverages were acceptable to one another they decided to move forward. Their first date was at Ardmore Coffee Shop, right outside of Downtown Winston-Salem. Hannah arrived late per usual but Ian soon realized his wait would be worth it. Conversation shifted from marching band to “Good Mythical Morning” and the vibes were good. Over the next couple of months they realized how much they shared in common. They became officially official in December of 2018 and began the journey of discovering each other’s hearts.

On February 15th 2020, the day after Valentine’s Day, Ian had a special date planned for Hannah. It started with lunch in Reynolda Village, where Ian and Hannah shared many dates. Then Ian took Hannah to the SECCA art museum nearby, a place they had been wanting to explore together. All the while Ian was looking for the perfect place to ask Hannah an important question. SECCA was not as romantic or as special as Ian wanted, so they went across the street, back to Reynolda Gardens. Ian b-lined to the same bench they shared one of their most favorite and insightful dates at (which of course made Hannah suspicious…). They sat down and after a few long minutes of Hannah asking “what is going on?” and wanting to go inside because it was so cold, Ian finally started talking. He began by exclaiming that he had a question and something to give her. She almost immediately started sobbing. Ian asked her stand up even though she was shaking, and then he went down on one knee. He asked, she said “YES!” then she asked and he said “YES!”. Now they are getting married despite all 2020 had to offer…
